Homemade Laundry Soap

Hi everyone! Several people have recently asked for our homemade laundry soap recipe. So, it’s about time we publish it!

Makes a big batch…store in bag or container.

Baking Soda – 3 cups
Borax – 1 cup

Optional for a bit more suds and scent: you can thinly grate up a bar of castile soap (Dr. Bonners is perferred) and mix it into the baking soda and borax  mix or we buy Dr. Bronners liquid castile soap and give 1 small squirt into each laundry load.

We originally started using this recipe in our top load washer. We now have a HE front loader washer. It works great in both top an front loader and we’ve never had a problem with oversudsing. We been using this recipe for at least 4 years and have had no troubles getting clothes clean and no problems with premature wear on our clothes.

Enjoy using this and saving a ton of money….along with being better on the environment :)
